I am a full time MSc Architecture student at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden with a First Class bachelor’s in architecture degree from Oxford Brookes University and previous work experience as an architectural assistant and intern.
Completing the programme Art, Architecture and Design at Edvard Munch Vgs in Oslo, Norway, I created a foundation for starting my bachelor’s degree in Architecture at Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, England.
Throughout my three years in Oxford, I developed a variety of skills and interests, including the relationship between architecture and society. A number of my university projects aimed to address how we live together in modern society; In my final year university project, I worked with an existing building in Oxford City Centre, turning an old power station into a co-housing scheme. The pandemic has led to isolation and loneliness becoming a more visible issue and I wanted to address this by focusing on how city living can become communal and affordable. The project can be accessed here
In my dissertation I examined conventional public bathrooms, how they meet the needs of transgender individuals, and suggesting ways to rethink their design. In the process, I looked closely into UK building regulations and legislation, as well as concepts and theories. The dissertation can be accessed here.
I completed my bachelor’s degree with a First Class Honours in May 2021 and shortly after started working full time as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant at West Waddy Archadia in Abingdon, England. The year out in practice allowed me to apply and develop the knowledge gained during my bachelor’s degree to real life projects. In August 2022, I became a full time MSc Architecture student at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.
